Smach Z gaming PC handheld becomes another warning story

There is no shortage of handheld gaming currently running a full Windows 10 OS, at least if you know where to look for. From GPD win 3 to Aya Neo to OnexPlayer new, now there are several choices in terms of bringing your PC game while traveling. However, in 2014, the idea was revolutionary and the small team tried to make it happen before other people did it. Of course, Smach Z went through the crowdfunding route and, while successfully funded, now it has become another anecdotal of how the dreams don’t just fail but also eliminate people who earn hard.

The way it starts may have prefigured his fate. Launched first as a steam because of his original intention to become a handheld steam engine, the project was forced to change his name to “Smach zero” and finally became “Smach Z”. It was successfully funded by the project in Kickstarter and, for a while, it seems that the problem was actually finally behind him.

However, it was just the beginning. This project will meet several problems and changes, including changing the processor promised on the Kickstarter. It will still be an AMD-based embedded system but its ability becomes less and less impressive on each update.

Smach Z will also be silent for a long time and suddenly will appear for life with new updates. Unfortunately, the latest, the message on the Smach forum posted on Reddit for public views, maybe the worst. In short, the startup behind Smach Z must declare bankruptcy after losing its main investors. In other words, Smach Z is not possible for boats and supporters it is impossible to even get a small portion of refunds.

If Smach Z has sent it, it will be easily defeated by people like GPD Win 3 and OnexPlayer, clearly not worth $ 600 paid by supporters for 5 years ago. Crowdfunding is always a risky investment and this incident shows once again how even the most successful campaigns can end up with failure in the end.
